About SBIR Edge
We built SBIR Edge because a SBIR/STTR company's real story was scattered across public data and disconnected tools.
An SBIR or STTR award is proof: a federal agency already paid to de-risk real technical work. SBIR Edge organizes the record, the technology, and the evidence around it, so companies can move from funded research to visible, credible commercial action.
How SBIR Edge Works
Every SBIR/STTR award on record, organized per company — the evidentiary base everything else runs on.
Real products, procurement paths, and lifecycle detail, so buyers and primes can find what's already built.
Capital Edge scores compliance readiness, momentum, and matching-fund timing for private investors.
Firms and primes still get matched into follow-on and teaming opportunities off that same record.
The record exists. The story does not.
Public awards, capability decks, past performance, compliance readiness, procurement paths, and investor materials all say something true about a company — but they live in five different places, written for five different readers, none of them connected to the others.
The System
One record, organized around the company that earned it.
Public Record
Proof already exists.
Every SBIR/STTR award begins as public evidence that an agency paid to de-risk real technical work. SBIR Edge organizes that record around the company.

What Sets Us Apart
Government-run discovery catalogs are useful for browsing what firms have built, but stop at browsing: no live procurement path, no compliance signal, no route to capital. General deal-flow platforms reach founders broadly, not specifically the pool of federally-validated SBIR/STTR companies. Nobody else puts technology discovery, procurement, and private capital access on the same platform, built from the same underlying award record.
| Capability | Competitors | SBIR Edge |
|---|---|---|
| Technology Discovery & Procurement | Government catalogs let you browse what firms have built, but rarely show a live procurement path, contract vehicle, or lifecycle stage. | The Vault lists real products with procurement paths, contract detail, and TRL/CRL stage — one directory that goes from discovery straight to acquisition. |
| Private Investor Access | General deal-flow platforms and accelerator networks reach a broad, self-reported pool of startups, not screened federal awardees. | Capital Edge gives members access to private investors focused specifically on federally-validated SBIR/STTR companies — a pool most founders can't reach through general fundraising channels. |
| Compliance & Investability Signal | Most directories take a company's word for it; nothing verifies compliance readiness or momentum. | Every scored company carries an Investability Score computed from real award history and compliance data, not a pitch deck. |
| Phase III & Teaming Pathway | Teaming and BD tools exist, but are rarely tied to a specific SBIR/STTR award or a defensible § 638(r) case. | Every listing traces back to its underlying award history, so a prime or program office can see the derivation case, not just a pitch. |
| Coverage | Scoped to a single marketplace, accelerator cohort, or vendor category. | Any agency, any SBIR/STTR award on the public record — one platform instead of five different logins. |
How It Connects
Four steps, one underlying record.
Public Award Record
Every SBIR/STTR award is public: agency, dollar amount, phase, date. We keep it organized per company instead of scattered across government databases.
Verified starting point
Vault Listing
Real products, procurement paths, and lifecycle detail, searchable by government buyers, primes, and integrators looking for something already de-risked.
Buyer-ready context
Commercial & Capital Readiness
Compliance readiness, momentum, and matching-fund timing, computed from the same award record, so investors don't have to take a pitch deck's word for it.
Clear gaps and signals
Phase III & Teaming Path
SBIR firms still get their follow-on path. Primes still get a teaming slot. The government still gets a decision it can defend.
Actionable transition path
The Public Record
The starting point is not a pitch deck.
SBIR Edge begins with evidence already created through the federal innovation system, then gives companies a way to organize the commercial story around it.
